Hi everyone,
These last days I played a tennis tournament in the South of France at our Academy. I won the first two rounds and was eliminated in the third.
In the first round I beat Louisa Caumette 6-1 6-1. She hits very high balls and it’s not easy to counter them, but my coach has taught me how to best manage those situations. The only games I lost were due to my service double faults.
In my second round I had my best tennis tournament win ever. I beat Mouratoglou graduate Andreea Ciornei (French rating 3/6, UTR rating 8.86) 6-4 4-6 6-0. Considering my rating in France is 5/6 and UTR 7.05 right now it’s a nice performance. My forehands and backhands were regular and long, we practiced them a lot with my coach Christophe Couprie.
I lost my third round to Sara Rakim, rated 8.53 UTR and 2/6 in France. Our long rallies were good and I was quite successful, but I wasted tons of points because of bad serves and unforced errors. Sara is clearly more experienced and knew how to win.
My next tournament is coming up at the end of this week, in Carros. I’ll let you know how I do.
