Hi everyone,
I’m in the USA for my spring break 2.5 weeks, and I’m taking advantage to play 3 tournaments during the 3 weekends while I am here. It’s not easy to find good tournaments here, because since I have been at the academy out of the USA, I have not been able to play tournaments here and so I have lost all my USTA points (earned from winning local tournaments). I wrote in my previous post how I was lucky to be accepted in the last Level 6 tournament in Key Biscayne (after a player in the main draw withdrew). I signed up during this vacation for 2 Level 3 tournaments, but although I am strong enough to participate, I did not qualify because I don’t have any USTA points. This time I found a closed Level 4 tournament in Naples, Florida, which accepts players based on UTR, hurray!
You can see below the photos and ratings of my opponents in the event:
1/16: Natalie Morris, I won 6-1 7-6 (7-4)
1/8: Chelsea Casapu, I won 6-2 6-1
1/4: Samantha Herrera, I won 6-0 6-1
1/2: Laura Damm, I lost 2-6 6-3 (1-10)
Match for 3rd place: Cookie Jarvis Tredgett, I won 6-1 1-6 10-8
Next weekend I’ll play a Level 6 G16 tournament in Coral Springs.
You can see above that my UTR rating is going up little by little, above 7.50 now. Note when I started the Mouratoglou academy in September 2019 my UTR rating was 5.50.
